The Free Capitalist Project™ and its related ventures all subscribe to the same basic philosophical framework described by Rick Koerber as the prime pattern of prosperity or Lucent Prime™ (meaning literally “first light” or “first truths”). The Lucent Prime model was developed by Koerber to articulate and illustrate the fundamental, timeless and basic truths that have been the foundation for all prosperous societies in recorded human history. While the name Lucent Prime is new, the principles are not. Rediscovered in the present day by Koerber, these same principles were called by the American Founders simply, the Ancient Principles. Modern philosophers such as Ludwig Von Mises have identified many of the same principles describing them as merely the rules and formulas defining and constraining all Human Action.
Principles govern. The Lucent Prime model consists of 42 essential ideas that serve as the foundation or beginning point for a person deliberately choosing to pursue the principled path to prosperity or personal Prosperity Quest™. The first thirteen basic axioms of the model are most often referred to as the 13 Principles of Prosperity. These thirteen principles form the first layer or foundation level of a comprehensive conceptual framework intentionally designed to enable any person become self reliant, economically independent and ultimately free. Alexander Hamilton described in Federalist #31 in 1778:
In disquisitions of every kind there are certain primary truths or first principles upon which all subsequent reasonings must depend. These contain an internal evidence, which antecedent to all reflection or combination commands the assent of the mind . . . and [are] so obvious in themselves, and so agreeable to the natural and unsophisticated dictates of common sense, that they challenge the assent of a sound and unbiased mind, with a degree of force and conviction almost equally irresistible.
The 13 Principles of Prosperity.
Principle 1: God is the author of prosperity (i.e. Principles Govern)
Principle 2: Faith begins with self-interest
Principle 3: Agency implies stewardship
Principle 4: Perspective determines action
Principle 5: People are assets
Principle 6: Human life value is the source and creator of all property value
Principle 7: Dollars follow value
Principle 8: Exchange creates wealth
Principle 9: Profit is the tool of validation
Principle 10: Productivity is the standard
Principle 11: Force destroys freedom and prosperity
Principle 12: Collective action has no unique moral authority
Principle 13: Personal liberty requires private property
Producers & Prime Movers.
The Lucent Prime model, beginning with the thirteen principles outlined above, provides a solid basis for individuals to measure and monitor their own progress in life relative to the necessary preconditions of lasting prosperity. The term Prime Mover (derived ffrom the Latin primum movens meaning “first cause”) is best used to describe a person who intentionally acts in harmony with these principles. Prime Movers are those individuals in society who lead out and who are the cause or locus of productive activity in a free society. Therefore, in the Free Capitalist Project, the terms Prime Mover and Producer are often used interchangeably. The simple but challenging quest for aspiring producers, committed to the principled path of prosperity, is to bring their lives into harmony with the pattern and learn how to leverage, utilize, and rely upon these concepts in daily living.
How these Principles are Used on FCD
Each news story and current event entry on FCD is categorized by its relevance to the principles based upon the theme or point being made by FCD. Each story is therefore categorized into one of the thirteen principles. However, many stories can also illustrate many different aspects of several principles.
Each article on FreeCapitalist Daily included a “MRFC principles” (Most Relevant Free Capitalist principles) designation. The designation looks like this:
The designation graphic corresponds to one of the thirteen principles (and serves as a hyper-link to all other articles similarly designated) and the numbers sometimes listed in parenthesis to the right of the graphic identify additional relevant principles. The strategy behind this categorization system is to enable readers to practice noticing the principles and their relevance in the world around them.
Some things [principles] are true whether we believe them or not. Becoming aware of these principles and learning to identify the consequences of human action that either conforms to or violates these principles is a huge step forward in everyone man or women’s quest for prosperity.
